Born and raised in Cleveland, singer/songwriter/guitarist Marcus Dirk has grown up with a variety of music, musicians and surroundings to shape his songwriting along the way. His original music is influenced by Irish, English & American folk music, maritime music, jam-rock, reggae, & jazz. Songs that are sometimes historical in subject, sometimes haunting, or sometimes just simple tales of love lost & found.
In 2009 Marcus released his first solo effort Thistle Hill.

Since its beginning in 1998, Cuyuga has been fortunate enough to share the stage playing their unique brand of Jam-Folk with the likes of Fairport Convention, Leftover Salmon, David Nelson, The Big Wu, DSO and Vince Welnick of The Grateful Dead, while releasing two CD’s along the way The Euc in 1998 as well as Orange Stone Groove in 2001. In 2013 Cuyuga released its 3rd album Northwinds.
